Veteran ASP surfer Cory Lopez as final 24 surfers at the SriLankan Airlines Pro

Scott Sorensen - Friday, June 12, 2009

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 11 June, 2009 : - - Veteran ASP World Tour surfers Cory Lopez (USA) and Travis Logie (South Africa)  conquered the windswept conditions as the final 24 surfers were decided at the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) PRIME rated six star World Qualifying Series (WQS) Sri Lankan Airlines Pro in the Maldives today.

Today’s  strong cross shore winds actually made the waves super high performance and excellent scores were plentiful throughout the day with the point break wave providing multiple powerful sections for surfers to perform big manoeuvres. Cory Lopez, (USA/Florida) lead the experienced surfers charge as the 32 year old progressed in second place in  the opening round three heat behind fellow USA surfer Pat Gudauskas (Cal).

“ I’m feeling good after that heat and now I’m into the final 24 surfers in this event it is starting to get exciting” said Lopez. “I’ve had 18 months away from full time competition but just maybe I’m looking at requalification” he added. “ I’ve already entered the coming five major ASP WQS events and I’ll assess my situation as I go.”

The “Back in Black 2” T-Shirt Exhibit showcased original, one-color t-shirt designs by 17 of the best digital illustrators and designers in the US and Europe on Saturday May 16th at Czar’s Imperial Theatre in Tampa, FL. Created in 2008, the purpose of this show is to highlight the artwork of the uncelebrated designers whose art you’ve probably been collecting in your closet for years, as well as to establish the t-shirt as a new medium for fine art.

Anarchy was there to support the show and the artists that make us all look good. A limited edition, signed Hydro74/Anarchy print was available to the guests during the show. Check out more on Back in Black 2 at backinblackapparel.com.

Toby Imada Defeats Masvidal in Submission of the Year

Scott Sorensen - Monday, May 04, 2009

In what is being called the “submission of the year”, Anarchy’s Toby Imada subdues Jorje Masvidal in a 3 round fight with the Bellator Fighting Championships.

Toby Imada came from behind and pulled off an inverted reverse triangle choke to defeat Jorge Masvidal and enter the lightweight finals. Imada and Masvidal engaged in the fight of the night, with Masvidal coming on strong early with his superior reach and left jab. But that didn't stop Imada from pushing the pace and eventually taking the victory. For video check out Sherdog.com

Anarchy hung out with Atreyu at the their recent show at the Sports Arena here in San Diego. It was all the normal rock star stuff you would imagine back stage, girls, libations, groupies and a never-ending supply of security. Colleen and Jon from The Material came with us for a great night of lunacy. Great show and special thanks to the band and Tim from the Blood Company for letting us hang out with them.

Scott Sorensen - Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Well thiswasn't a spring break trip but, Anarchy’s Kyle Rattray just happened to be inthe Cayman Islands for our Trip with SBC during spring break and he kept feelingthe need to yell spring break 09!! The place was unreal. Everything is brandnew, very clean, good food and the riding was good. Riding would have been epic if it weren't for the crazy wind we had to deal with.
